AUO sees almost 14% sequential rise in August sales

AU Optronics (AUO) has announced that its August 2008 consolidated sales rose 13.6% sequentially to NT$37.1 billion (US$1.17 billion), with shipments to both the large-size and small- to medium-size segments growing. But the August sales represent a 15.9% on-year decrease.

Consolidated sales for January-August 2008 totaled NT$329.86 billion, up 21.7% compared to the same period of 2007, the company added
